30 million YouTube views in 18 months: Jamie Ray's video run
From “Magic City Cowboy” to the “Cowboy Gangsta” remix, the videos that carried country trap to a national audience.

Jamie Ray's YouTube run started with “Magic City Cowboy” on 5 August 2021 and hit its stride with “Cowboy Gangsta” on 24 September 2021, the video that has now passed 21 million views. “Sticks” followed on 15 April 2022, then “Country To The City” on 27 January 2023.
Across those eighteen months the channel crossed 30 million views, the figure on the label's stat rail. BroadwayWorld put the original “Cowboy Gangsta” at 9.5 million YouTube views and 6.7 million Spotify streams by February 2023, when the remix with Peewee Longway arrived on the deluxe edition of the debut project.
The videos are the reason the genre name stuck. Country trap is a visual idea as much as a sound, and the run of clips from Polk County, Florida gave it a look before it had a chart.
