Jamie Ray has been putting country records over trap drums since 2017, long enough that the lane he was mocked for is now a genre with a chart. His debut EP Country Trap — nine tracks, later expanded into a deluxe — came through Against Da Grain and Epic.

"MAGIC CITY COWBOY" did 8.4 million Spotify streams and 2.9 million views on the video, then kept climbing: 30 million YouTube views inside eighteen months and north of 100 million plays on TikTok. "COWBOY GANGSTA" went to No.1 on the Worldwide Country Charts and came back as an official remix with Peewee Longway.
He has a cosign from Young Thug, has worked alongside Lil Baby and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and has turned up at the CMA Awards wearing exactly what he wanted to wear.
