Billboard lists 1Ski OG among 10 Caribbean artists to watch in 2025
The Clarendon dancehall artist made Billboard's regional watch list weeks after his Epic Records deal.
Billboard's list of ten Caribbean artists to watch in 2025 included 1Ski OG, the Clarendon, Jamaica dancehall artist who had just signed his first international record deal with Epic Records in partnership with Against Da Grain.
The entry pointed to the record that put him on the map. “Darkniss”, a song about hardship and loss, passed three million views on YouTube on its own, and a run of 2024 singles including “Life Of A G” and “Love A Nuh My Thing” kept him in rotation across the island and the diaspora.
Billboard's inclusion came at the moment 1Ski OG was moving from local star to label priority. Fly Ty brokered the Epic deal in late 2024, and the artist's next chapter, a new stage name and the “Alter Ego” project, followed in 2025.
