HoodCelebrityy signs with Epic Records
The Jamaica Observer reported the 2018 deal that made the Bronx-raised dancehall artist Fly Ty's first major-label signing.
In May 2018 the Jamaica Observer reported that HoodCelebrityy, the Portmore-born, Bronx-raised dancehall artist now performing as Tina, had signed with Epic Records. The deal was Fly Ty's first major-label signing through Against Da Grain.
She arrived with a hit already in hand. “Walking Trophy” had spread through 2017 on radio and on social media, and the Epic deal put a major behind the follow-up.
The first result came quickly: “Find My Way Out”, her contribution to the Superfly soundtrack in 2018, released the same year as the signing. Later singles including “Third World” with Stonebwoy and “Round The World” carried the Epic chapter forward.
