How a code is assigned
Assignment happens on payment confirmation, never before.

Payment confirmed
Stripe webhook confirms; the order is written and the seat leaves inventory.

Barcode generated
A signed, single-use token — event id, order id, ticket id and an HMAC. It is not a
sequential number, so codes cannot be guessed from a photo of someone else’s ticket.

Delivered
Email with a PDF and a wallet pass. The pass updates if the seat or time changes.

Scanned once
First scan admits. Every later scan of the same code is rejected and logged against the
original admission — screenshots and forwards do not get a second entry.

Refund or transfer
The old code is voided immediately and a new one issued to the new holder.
