Sign up for County Alerts
Mitchell County Alerts uses Everbridge to send emergency and community notifications. Register, add your contact details, then set your contact preferences and the types of alerts you want.
Add 888777 and 89361 to your contacts so you recognize incoming alert texts. These are sender codes, not registration instructions.
Burn permits & registration
Start on the county’s official burn registration page. Read the Burn Resolution and required documents before submitting the annual registration.
Registration alone is not permission to start a burn. Follow the current county instructions and contact Communications at 785-738-3523 before burning. Call ahead to confirm current burn restrictions.
