Green Hills Regional Planning Commission is bringing municipal leaders, county commissioners and community partners together to begin getting community projects in line for the 2027 CDBG Competitive Grant Cycle. The session is on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at 10:00 AM, held virtually via Zoom. It covers demolition and blight removal, water, wastewater and infrastructure, community facilities and improvements, funding opportunities and project readiness. Successful CDBG projects from around the region will be highlighted, and communities will have the opportunity to bring forward project ideas and start the planning process.
Sealed bids for the construction of a new 200-foot cargo dock will be received by AGRIServices of Brunswick until 10:00 A.M. Central Daylight Time on 8 October 2026. The project is financed through a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration awarded to Green Hills Regional Planning Commission on behalf of ASB.

The board approved the 2023-2024 annual audit presented by Mark Higgins, the amended 2024-2025 budget, the 2025-2026 Transportation Work Plan, and Resolution 2025-1 authorising the Executive Director to sign and execute grant agreements and funding awards. Christian Holferry from Congressman Sam Graves' office discussed the highway bill and proposed postal service bills. New staff service areas were set for the community and economic development team.
Minutes of the North Missouri Solid Waste Management District Executive Board meeting of 26 June 2025. A quorum was declared with 9 members present. The board approved the FY2026 General Account and Grant Account budgets and two new grants: the Town of Carrollton for household hazardous waste disposal fees of $15,000, and Harrison County for household hazardous waste disposal fees of $15,000.
Minutes of the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting of 26 June 2025. A quorum was declared with 15 members present. MoDOT presented on recent awards, upcoming bids, the multi-modal unfunded needs list, STIP updates including U.S. 36 resurfacing and shoulder repairs and U.S. 65 resurfacing, and a new federal law on weight limits for bridges over 20 feet. The Unionville airport was added to the unfunded needs list.

A schedule of ten public meetings held across the region between 8 and 19 September 2025, at Carrollton City Hall, Hamilton City Hall, the GHRPC office in Trenton, Keytesville City Hall, the Senior Center in Gallatin, the Putnam County courthouse in Unionville, Brookfield City Hall, Princeton City Hall, the Community Center in Milan, Chillicothe City Hall and the fire station in Bethany.
The Missouri Department of Transportation hosted two public meetings to discuss bridge deck replacement projects in Mercer, Putnam and Sullivan Counties: Mercer County Routes E and JJ, Sullivan County Route OO, Putnam County Route FF, and the Mercer County U.S. Route 136 bridge over the Grand River Overflow in Princeton.
The Northwest Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety offered grants for highway and traffic safety programmes. Applications closed 27 June 2025; requests could not exceed $5,000. Eligible applicants included schools, community groups, law enforcement and health departments. Programmes had to address an emphasis area in the Show-Me Zero strategic highway safety plan.
Minutes of the Multi-Modal Subcommittee meeting. Consensus was reached that the Unionville Municipal Airport is the region's number one priority for the unfunded needs list. Updates covered the Carroll County Amtrak station and the Roy Blunt Reservoir, where tree and stump removal was under way at the dam construction site.

MoDOT presented recent project awards in Caldwell, Daviess, Harrison and Sullivan Counties, including a $1.9 million bridge replacement on Caldwell Route D over Shoal Creek, $4.2 million of coldmill and resurfacing on Daviess County Route 6, and $2.3 million of pavement repair on Caldwell Route 13.
North Missouri Solid Waste Management District B sponsored its third annual Earth Day poster contest. The 2025 theme was composting. Submissions were due by 22 April 2025 and could not exceed 11 inches by 17 inches.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Waste Management Program administers grant programs to divert scrap tires from landfills and illegal dumps by promoting end-users for scrap tires.
