Parenting Has Never Come with a Manual. In Idaho, It Can Come with Community Support.
Parent Cafés give caregivers room to connect, share their experiences, and feel less alone.
Idaho AEYC brought Parent Cafés to Idaho in partnership with Be Strong Families. The program uses small-group conversations to give caregivers a welcoming place to reflect on the rewards and challenges of raising children.
Rather than offering advice or critiques, participants speak from their own lived experiences. The cafés draw on the Strengthening Families Framework and parent-to-parent learning.
Idaho AEYC’s May 2026 story follows the program at Gooding Public Library, where support from the organization helped sustain meals, child care, facilitators, and host training. Connections made at the cafés have continued beyond the sessions.
